Innovation Designs for Shrink Sleeve

 

At this year’s FachPack and Labelexpo Europe, the printing specialist Illert GmbH & Co. KG, the pigment specialist Schlenk Metallic Pigments GmbH and the film specialist Univacco Technology Inc. presented a special shrink sleeve as a full body decoration. 

 

In this sleeve, there were three finishing techniques which were ran inline, one process succeeding the next.

• The inscription, "AQUA Paradiso", implemented the use of a narrow-web cold foil, high-gloss silver finish and holographic rainbow effect by reverse printing.
• The fish floating in water effect was made with special multi-colored glitter pigment.
• Silver ink is used to achieve a metallic effect thus enhancing the graphical appeal.

All these three steps exhibited the extraordinary possibilities, through innovative design that can be achieved with the shrink sleeve.

Additionally, a tool is made to support the development of attractive shrink sleeve packaging. This is a color chart showing the surface coverage of the individual process colors in combination with a silver-stamping foil and high-gloss silver paint. (Photos: Illert)
